All classes at Wipe Your Paws are informative and very interactive. Training classes will not only benefit your dog but educate you as well. Taking a training class with your dog will also strengthen the bond between you and your pup. Wipe Your Paws offers several different dog classes that take place in our spacious daycare room and outside (depending on weather). There are 6 classes per semester and each class lasts approximately 50 minutes.
Basic obedience (puppies 12 weeks to 1 year old)
Have a puppy 12 weeks to 1 year old that you want to get started on the right foot (or paw)? If you would like your pup to be a well behaved and respected member of the family, then Basic Obedience Puppy Class is for you! Our trainer Judith De Maria will teach you to teach your dog basic obedience, socialization with other dogs and new people and give you helpful tips for typical puppy issues such as house training.

canine good citizen classes
We are offering the AKC Canine Good Citizen certification.
In preparation for the exam, there will be a 5 week class offered to learn
and practice the tasks required to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen exam.
The test will be offered the week after the classes end.
Classes will be held Sundays at 11:30 am.
First class will be Sunday, Sept 15th.
Last class will be Sunday, Oct 13th.
Each class will be an hour long.
The test will be held Sunday, Oct 20th by appointment.
(It is not necessary to take the classes to take the test but it is highly recommended.)

Kate schroer-shepord
Meet Kate! Kate has been a member of the Wipe Your Paws team since 2018. She works as both a store manager and our in-house dog trainer.
Kate has 17 years of dog training experience and is a certified guide dog mobility instructor. She specializes in reading dogs and translating their needs to the owner. She emphasizes the need to give dogs direction and support. She is a reward based trainer who focuses on positive reinforcement with food, play, voice and touch. Kate also understands the variety of reasons people wish to bring a dog into their home and works to help each family member build a relationship with their dog. Judith has a passion for all things dog! With a BSc in Animal Behavior from the University of London, Judith currently works at Guiding eyes for the Blind as a Guide Dog Mobility Instructor but has also owned her own dog training business and worked in-house at Mount Kisco Veterinary Clinic and Petsmart. With a variety of training techniques under her belt, and many years of experience, Judith brings a sense of humor to training that makes it fun and effective for you and your pet. Judith currently lives with her 3 children and 5 dogs, so she understands how busy life can be and loves helping families create easy, rewarding relationships with their pets that will give them a lifetime of good memories.
